FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Why Be
Late Again? New Mobile Software Puts All Your Timely Outlook Data Where You
Need It Most – Right In Front You!
San Diego, Ca. -- December 1,
2003 – Quench™
Software (www.quenchsoftware.com)
today announced the Kitara:GENESIS™ plug-in, a new application for Windows Mobile /
Pocket PC devices that finally brings together all of your relevant Outlook
data and displays it in an organized, compact manner for quick on-the-go
assimilation.
The Pocket PC can store a
wealth of useful information---so much, in fact, that it's difficult to manage
all at once. Now your mission-critical information such as upcoming
Appointments, Tasks, Birthdays, Anniversaries and even Holidays will appear in
one convenient place: your device’s Today Screen!
"These
machines excel at so many things---we were somewhat surprised to find that
this basic functionality was missing from the operating system",
commented David J. Calabrese, project leader at Quench™ Software.
"We initially began developing the program
in-house for our own use, but after showing it to a few of people and getting
some great input on feature enhancement ideas, we realized we could really
help users become more productive with their PDAs."
The Kitara:GENESIS™ plug-in
becomes a part of your Today Screen and shows up when you first turn on your
device, immediately displaying your most important data without requiring any
additional steps from the user.
"One
of our goals was to make the data we display as clean and attractive-looking
as possible," Calabrese continued. "We've
worked hard to give the whole application a built-in feel and we hope it really
looks like it belongs there."
Since everyone's idea of the
perfect view of their data is slightly different, a number of filtering and
display options are provided. The program can additionally be customized
with user-supplied icons, and has advanced features such as the ability to
link related Outlook data together, assigning custom icons to events, and
multiple, independently-scrolling views.
"What
we do here is in many ways a service,"
Calabrese explained. "By
listening very closely to the feedback we receive from our customers, we get
to write the software that people actually want to use. Everybody wins."
