SECTION 1: The Many Faces of Kitara!
Here's a quick demonstration of some of the different ways in which
the Kitara:GENESIS plug-in can display your data, and which Options to configure in each case.
Note that while these screenshots show all types of data, you can
actually turn on or off the any major type (hide Tasks, for instance, or
only show events like Birthdays, Anniversaries, and Holidays).
How do you want to
see your data? Click on the screenshot below to be taken to the
configuration details:
These are just
some of the more popular configurations. The Kitara:GENESIS(TM)
plug-in has plenty of settings and display formatting options, so feel
free to experiment! Even though you might not be able to realize
your own the perfect view of data, you'll be surprised at how close you
can get!
SECTION 2: What You Check Is What You Get
Don't really care about Tasks? Haven't
taken the time to deal with Holidays? Whatever your specific
desires for exactly what data shows up on your Today Screen, you can use
the "Data Types" page to make that choice!
Open the Options dialog by tapping and holding on
the plug-in's title line, and choose "Options..." from the context menu
that appears. Then activate the "General" tab, and tap the "Show
data types..." button to make your final decisions:

(Note: "Show Events" here means show Birthdays and
Anniversaries!)
SECTION 3: Take a Holiday (Or an
Entire Set!)
The Kitara:GENESIS(TM) plug-in has built-in
support for displaying Outlook Holidays with corresponding icons.
Essentially, the plug-in contains a user-editable list associating a
Holiday name (the "subject" of the Appoinment representing the Holiday)
and an icon name. When there's a match, the appropriate icon will
be used instead of the "default" Holiday icon.
We ship the plug-in with icon associations for a
few countries, but it's easy to set up your own Holiday icons. The
simplest way is to wait for the given Holiday to appear on your Today
Screen, and tap & hold on the icon to bring up the Icon Chooser.
For Holidays, an extra option labelled "Add Holiday" appears. If
you check this box, whatever icon you choose will be added to the
associatioin list.
To add a Holiday set to your Outlook Calendar /
Agenda, launch the desktop version of Outlook. Select "Options..."
from the Tools menu. Click on the "Calendar options..." button and
then the "Add Holidays..." button. Put a check mark next to the
Holiday sets you want to add and click OK. Congratulations!
The next time you sync your device, your requested Holidays will show up
in your Pocket Outlook data.
